En las últimas décadas, se han producido diversos crímenes en España que se han convertido en todo un fenómeno mediático. La atrocidad de los hechos, en los que están involucradas víctimas especialmente vulnerables, se divulga y disecciona en los medios, que hacen partícipes al público de cada pequeño y sórdido detalle.
Kraken nace de nuestra profunda aversión hacia la naturaleza fría y despiadada de estos asesinos y contiene una profunda crítica hacia a los medios de comunicación que insistieron e insisten en la difusión de sus crímenes hasta la saciedad.
Las imágenes que conforman Kraken son collages compuestos por paisajes hermosos en los que se introducen digitalmente figuras humanas implicadas en hechos oscuros, ya sea como verdugos o como víctimas. Son fotografías intencionadamente muy teatrales, pues los medios de comunicación terminan convirtiendo estas muertes en un verdadero espectáculo.
Kraken representa la pérdida de humanidad, tanto por parte de los monstruos que matan sin mostrar compasión como por la actitud de una sociedad, anestesiada por una conducta oportunista de los diversos medios informativos, que parece haberse acostumbrado al horror.

In recent decades, a number of crimes in Spain have become a full-fledged media phenomenon. The brutality of these events, involving particularly vulnerable victims, is disseminated and dissected by the media, drawing the public into every sordid detail.
Kraken arises from a deep aversion to the cold and merciless nature of these killers and offers a sharp critique of the media, which have insisted —and continue to insist— on broadcasting their crimes to the point of saturation.
The images that make up Kraken are collages composed of beautiful landscapes into which human figures involved in dark events are digitally inserted, whether as executioners or as victims. The photographs are deliberately theatrical, reflecting the way in which the media ultimately turn these deaths into a spectacle.
Kraken represents a loss of humanity, both on the part of the monsters who kill without compassion and in the attitude of a society numbed by the opportunistic behaviour of the media, which appears to have grown accustomed to horror.
